My friends and I have started a tradition over the last couple of years. We take a trip together every October. The last 2 years have been to the beautiful and amazing Yellowstone National Park! It was the most amazing trip the first time that I had to go back a second time.
The first encounter was a hunt for bears and I didn't get to see any. They seemed to be always on the side of the park that I wasn't on. :-/ BUT I got to experience the snow in the beautiful Wyoming mountains! It was truly a breathtaking sight.
The second time I graced the park with my presence I was able to see THREE bears and TWO grey wolves!!! And those of you that know me, know that I am an avid wolf lover. My love for wolves is shown in the link to my Instagram Page since my handle is Lone_wolf210. I even have a wolf tattoo on the inside of my right wrist. Wolves are my spirit animal. So the encounter was magical!
NOW we are in the planning stages of our October 2023 trip. The places that are on the table right now are the beautiful Colorado, colorful State of Washington, and the wonders of Alaska! The choices are fierce!
I have been to Colorado a few times. Growing up I spent summers in the lovely Colorado Springs. As an adult I have been to Denver a few times and the Yellowstone trip in October 2021 included a few mountain hikes in Denver Colorado.
I have never been to the state of Washington. I have heard a lot about Seattle. I have family there. I hear that the fall is the most memorable place in the world to be when in Washington.
I have also never been to Alaska. When I think Alaska I think nothing but snow, dark or light for an insane amount of time and COLD! Now whether my assessment is accurate or not, I have seen some videos of fish jumping out of streams into the mouths of bears. There may be some exaggeration there but it would seem like a very fascinating scene to photograph.
My two friends have voted and one chooses Colorado and the other chose Washington but she says we can fly cheaper to Alaska. They are waiting on me to weigh in and vote. I am excited about all of the choices but I can only choose one for this year. Do I go back to a state I have already been and love or do I try something new?
The thing about going to a place you have already been you know what to expect, what the weather will be like, and how to pack. However if I think that way I will never explore new places. So I guess I am talking myself out of Colorado this round. But how do you choose between Washington and Alaska?
I don't know. What would you choose? I would love to hear your thoughts. What art would you like to see on Picture Perfect Things
